  • Sexological bodywork is a safe consent centered therapeutic modality which is useful for addressing a wide range of issues which can impact the ability to feel safe and comfortable in our body, connect with others, access pleasure, or enjoy sex and intimacy. It prioritises slowing down, feeling and the ability for the client to have agency over their own body and experience, able to choose, change or stop what is happening at all times.

In this context, the bodywork toolkit includes mindful movement, exercises, breathwork, visualisation, touch as well as massage therapy practices including myofascial release, triggerpoint therapy and scar tissue massage.

Common ways that sexological bodywork is used in my practice include:

    • Gentle bodywork supporting healthy fascia, muscles and scar tissue in and around the pelvic region, genitals and anus. Pain reduction, restoring sensation, resolution of sexual dysfunctions, release of stored emotions are common outcomes.

    • Learning about and building your relationship with your body. Exploring, developing body awareness and updating mental and sensory maps of the body.

    • Practicing skills with another person in a slow, clear, consent driven way. For example, learning to recognise and communicate what you do/don't want based on the signals from your body.

    • Re-educating the nervous system by providing it with needed experiences. For example, the experience of asking for and receiving safe touch without needing to please someone in return OR the experience of saying no without experiencing rejection or punishment.

Often these uses are not directly sexual/erotic in focus.

When it best serves the client's intention and only at the client's request, exploring, practicing and re-educating may also be used in service of a directly erotic or sexual goal. A few examples include: practicing staying present in your body during arousal, developing ejaculatory choice, navigating pain during arousal or orgasm, releasing shame by being seen during arousal.

  • Somatic sex coaching and optional sexological bodywork sessions offer a safe de-shaming space to support you in connecting to your body and moving towards more satisfying sex, intimacy and relationships.

Somatic coaching is an approach that involves the body as center for learning, wisdom and change. It honours the wisdom of our nervous system and supports us in updating ways of being that no longer serve us well.

Sessions are tailored with and to you in alignment with your intentions.
